Will the creation of a truly sentient being require the invention of some breakthrough technology and electronic devices? (Just like vacuum tubes and transistors paved way for digital computers) My belief is that we would require a hardware which modifies itself from time to time, and which is like a Von-Neumann craft… producing more hardware or software patches for itself with little or no outside help. What do you guys think??

Yes, you may be right. In my opinion, for AI to be on the level of efficiency, accuracy, and accountability, there has to be human positions behind the machine and software. There will be many a job replaced human level skill won’t be required. But behind the AI scenes, more positions will be added(some as actual skill and some as a fail safe to be determined by the laymen of GAI frameworks.) I’ve learned that man making is always required for the man made.
