I’m working on an investigation about education and development of AI. I have never been to an AI research lab before, and most of the ones I know don’t have that kind of information on their webpages. I understand python is mostly used for this subject as well as many libraries and frameworks specifically made for this area. But what would a research lab really need in terms of equipment to have a well rounded approach on AI investigation, education or even development? Would it need a supercomputer or a cluster of servers? Would students’ gear need any special requirements? What software would you think best for each of this divisions (investigation, education, development)? Would python libraries and frameworks be enough?
I know AI has many subjects of study (learning, knowledge representation, NLP, vision, etc, etc), what I propose is a well rounded approach. I hope I was clear and this turns out into a nice discussion.
