I see people refer to chat bots on reddit, and you definitely see them here. It seems they are getting harder to spot, and I sometimes see long reply threads that just don’t seem "right", like they’re following a formula. So as someone unfamiliar with the tech behind the topic, is Reddit a popular place for people to test these kinds of programs? It seems like an obvious choice. If a bot or AI can make it’s way successfully through a popular Reddit thread, it could easily win one off debates and influence opinions on social media like facebook and twitter. Is this old news?
